More Cards - Lifted

I needed some quick cards so I lifted from others. This first one is almost a complete copy. I changed it very little. I just loved it and felt it was adorable the way it was. This was more of my take on a lift. I am going to use this one for my March card club card.

I thought this basic design for this one was so cute. I did put my slant on it but for sure could never take credit for the original layout.

This one is a take on the design above again with my slant on it. I loved the design.

Thanks to all the designers who share their great work with those of us whose creativity has gone south for the winter. We greatly appreciate it. We would also appreciate your continuing support of Purple Onion Designs. This is another one of my most favorite stamp companies. Owned and operated by one person. These are the companies that we should continue to support.

Thanks for stopping by.

My little girl is all grown up - WARNING CUTE PUPPY PICTURES

Maggie is two years old. She is not really a puppy anymore. But she is for sure still if not more adorable. She is one spoiled rotten pooch. She goes to Doggie Day Care 2 days a week and has some social interaction with other puppies. She loves it.

While I was recoverying from surgery, this was pretty much her spot. It is my lap. I think because I sat here covered with a blanket it was warm and cozy for her.

Maggie in her bed under my desk.

This is Maggie waiting for her Dad to come thru the door. She hears his truck and stops playing with all her toys so she can give him a true Westie greeting. He loves its.

Boy do I need to catch up!

I have been so busy with the new job that I have totally neglected this blog. Being creative has taken a back seat to hmmmm - nothing. I have done some knitting and a couple of cards. Most of the cards that I did were for Eat Cake Graphics. Here are a couple that I did throughout last year and into this year.
This was an experiment to use Copic Markers to die white paper flowers to match colors. It got kinda busy.

This is a birthday card for a lovely lovely friend.

I got some of the Copic white acrylic paint for highlighting. Was playing around with using that on this one.

This was a card that I sent to ECGs that was not used on the sight. Very simple.

This was a lift from myself from another card I did for Eat Cake Graphics. I needed a birthday card and had just done the cat in the chair.

I drew the cupcakes. The flourish and the sentiment are from Eat Cake Graphics.

I loved this one. I drew the balloon and added the little dog. Dog and Sentiment are Eat Cake Graphics. All of these cards are colored with Copic. If you haven't been able to tell Eat Cake Graphics is one of my most favorite stamp companies. If you like the stamps, go visit the site and support this one person stamp company.

Thanks

Maggie Update

A quick update. Maggie is on the mend. We are slowly weaning her off the meds and no shaking. A couple more weeks and she will be back to her normal peppy puppy self.

Thanks!

My little Maggie

It has been a tough week for my sweet little Westie. We noticed that she was shaking. The best I can convey what was happening is to liken it to adult onset of Parkinson, where they have small tremors continually. I got on the Internet of course and started researching Westie health issues. The closest I could find was an ailment called White Dog Shaker Syndrome. Took her to the vet and Dr. Mike confirmed it.

This disorder develops suddenly in young adult, primarily small white dogs. The cause is unknown but generally speculated that there is some deficiency due to an autoimmune reaction. There is an all-over tremor that can range from mild to so severe that the dog may have difficulty walking. Luckily Maggie has mild tremors. The tremors do worsen however, when she became excited or tried to perform specific actions such as eating, walking towards an object, playing. At night when we went to bed and she relaxed the tremors would disappear. The condition is not painful but if untreated can cause seizures. If diagnosed early, the treatment is very effective and can totally eliminate the tremors.

We caught Maggie early and she is on Predizone now for a couple of weeks. Already the tremors have stopped. She is not the peppy puppy that she normally is because I suspect that the meds are making her uncomfortable. I remember how I felt when I had to go on Steriods for my back. She has been on the meds for a week and will keep her on them for another week. If she continues to do well, we can stop the meds next Friday.

I just hated seeing my sweet little girl go thru this, but very glad that it wasn't something more serious. Thanks for stopping by and letting me share.
